這首歌是莎拉麥克勞克蘭替一位海洛因吸食過量致死的樂團鍵盤手所寫的。其曲調平靜祥和又有激昂之處，常常以配樂的角色出現於歐美的影視作品；而歌詞的部份，更是柔美悲傷得令人屏息。這已經是很久很久以前的歌了，也早已經歷無數次的詮釋與翻唱。當我第一次聽到這首歌的時候，雖然大致了解意思，自己的英文能力卻還沒好到能夠細膩地將每句歌詞的意義用流暢的詞句翻譯出來。現在好歹也是個英文研究生了，終於可以獻醜一番而不致翻譯得太過荒腔走板；在此分享這首我所摯愛的歌曲，希望大家會喜歡。
